Elementary Program

Elementary students can row, too!

Periodically throughout the year, we make our coaching available to 4th-6th graders with a no-cost program intended to introduce kids to rowing while they have the time to explore new activities.

Elementary Program
In the central Strait of Juan de Fuca, the least windy time of year is in late summer and early fall. Starting this year, and thanks largely to the new coastal boats that provide a very stable platform for learning, we have initiated a program for upper elementary students. This program is free of charge, although participants must be USRowing members, which costs $25 annually.

The Little Hurt
Every year on the last weekend in September, Peninsula Adventure Sports puts on the Big Hurt on Saturday and the Little Hurt on Sunday. bighurtpa.com/little-hurt/. The Little Hurt is for 1st-8th graders and combines biking, rowing (on rowing machines), and running.
