Stronger Youth Through Rowing

Recreational Program
This program is for those who wish to learn the basics of rowing in team boats while working on conditioning and core
strength training. The team is generally comprised of both
6th too 8th grade athletes who love the sport and anxiously look forward to joining the competitive team
when they are age-eligible and deemed ready by coaches.
High school athletes who love the sport but cannot meet the attendance requirement for the Competitive Rowing team. 
By improving rowing technique, fitness and flexibility, this program lays a great foundation for those interested in
competitive crew in the future or in simply achieving and maintaining a higher level of athleticism.
Competitive Program
This program is offered to 8th grade through High School student athletes who would like to experience more
intensive practices and conditioning with the goal of competing in team and/or individual rowing competitions

Why Rowing is good for Youths

Self-Confidence
​Realizing their individual contribution to a larger team, youth build self-esteem and self-identity.
Mentorship
Trained rowing coaches provide guidance an support at a time when they need it most
Out of Doors
Youth rowers typically spend 10+ hours a week outside and unplugged from technology.

Everyone has a seat in the boat; no one is "on the sidelines."
Healthy Lifestyle
At a typical rowing practice, youth are active for over an hour, exceeding national guidelines for daily physical activity.
Life Skills
Leadership and life skills developed through rowing help youth thrive in the classroom and workplace.
Hard Work
​Youth learn resilience, tenacity, and how to set smart goals.
Academic Success
Youth who play sports are 15% more likely to graduate high school and attend college.
